If you’re like most people, this time of year you probably have the following things on your mind: Turkey. Black Friday. Shopping. Holiday gifts.
And if you’re from a northern climate like I am originally, staying warm as the weather gets cold(er) is near the top of that list.
So rather than thinking about the cold weather, let’s talk about the beach.
I took my portable JoeShade umbrella with me whenever I was out in the sun this summer
The beach?
The way I see it, when it’s cold outside the best way to stay warm is to think about warm memories. And when I think of warm memories, I think of this past summer and all the time I spent in the sun at the beach with my JoeShade umbrella.
About 8 months ago I moved from Chicago to Raleigh, NC. In Chicago the hottest time of year lasts for about two months, at most. In Raleigh? It’s more like six.
It’s not to say that I never used my JoeShade umbrella when I lived in Chicago. I did, but only a few times. I did take it on vacation with me when I went to the beach along Lake Michigan one summer. But a beach vacation in September in the upper Midwest isn’t quite as hot and sunny as the beach in the Southeast in July.
That’s why I took my JoeShade umbrella everywhere my family and I went this past year.
To Virginia Beach and Charleston in July. To the Outer Banks of North Carolina in September. Out to my backyard in… well, all summer long.
The best part of the JoeShade umbrella was how easy it was to carry wherever I went. Most times I slung it over my shoulder, like an archer would with a quiver of arrows – the shoulder strap on the carrying bag is perfect for that. (Of course, I was slinging it over my shoulder because I was also schlepping three beach chairs, two bags, and a cooler… but that’s besides the point.)
You probably know someone like me, someone who spends a lot of time outdoors in the sun and needs to stay cool and protected.
